With Halloween just days away, we would like everyone to stay safe and enjoy all the fun. For those taking part in trick-or-treating, please remember that children should be accompanied by a responsible adult wherever possible and stay in well-lit areas. Wearing reflective clothing, carrying a torch or using glow sticks can help ensure children remain visible in the dark. Please also be mindful of the houses you visit and only approach properties that are clearly welcoming trick-or-treaters.
For parents and guardians, check any treats before eaten, ensure costumes are suitable for the weather and do not restrict vision or movement. Consider adding reflective clothing, glow sticks or torches to help children remain visible to motorists after dark. Halloween should be an enjoyable occasion for everyone. Please remember to respect those who choose not to participate and be considerate of your neighbours.
Whilst Halloween is a time for fun, antisocial behaviour, criminal damage, intimidation and nuisance behaviour will not be tolerated. Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with their children about responsible behaviour and the impact their actions can have on others.
If you witness criminal activity or antisocial behaviour, please report it via 101 or online. In an emergency, always call 999. Drivers are also reminded to take extra care, particularly in residential areas, as there may be increased numbers of children walking near roads during the evening.
Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween from all at Tamworth Policeš
